| May 20, 2010 Dear Don/ROD/Ride on Don, Just a quick note to thank you ever so much for the bicycle – I am so in love with bike riding now! I’ve been in Vancouver for just about five years, and am sorry to say that on a student budget, with no room for purchasing a good bike, apparently I’ve missed out on the best way to get around. It’s such a liberating feeling to just hop on your bike and go anywhere, and I am extremely grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to experience it. I consider my new bike a buddy, since it pretty much comes with me everywhere. I think it’s great that you are such an advocate of bicycle riding in terms of promoting environmentally friendly transportation and a healthy lifestyle. You, your staff, and your store are all awesome - down to earth, relaxed, knowledgeable, and just plain cool all the while, which sets a great standard for youth and adults alike. The entire concept of bicycle recycling is genius, since so many bicycles are left to sit in garages. Choosing to recycle rather than throwing away is certainly something our community could improve upon, and would really benefit from. Not only is waste reduction a potential, but recycling and ‘handing down’ brings people closer together, and gets us thinking about our fellow community members - as I’m sure you’ve witnessed time and time again. I’m so glad to have met you and come into your store, and can’t thank you enough for the bike and for how happy I’ve been riding around the city lately. I think you are doing a fantastic thing for the community, and wish there were a greater circulation of generosity, as you have shown me. I’ll be sure to stop by and say hello soon!
